Three jewelry designs, brought to life through CGI, texture, and movement. Creative direction and production in collaboration with Stato.
Jewelry, in
another light.
As creative director and producer, I worked with Stato on a series of launch films for Porter Lyons, the jewelry brand from New Orleans. The project introduced three designs: two rings and a necklace, with films created for web and social media.
The films give each piece a world of its own. CGI, lighting, texture, and movement draw attention to the jewelry’s character and intricate details, from a glint on a gemstone to the contours of sculpted gold.
Before the
finished frame.
The early storyboards mapped the Funeral Ring film shot by shot: an open form, growing details, the arrival of the gemstone, a field of forget-me-nots, and the final landscape. These drawings gave the team a shared sequence to develop in 3D.
The details
take shape.
Rotating model studies reveal the pieces from every angle. The Funeral Ring’s opening, the Evil Ring’s stone setting, and the scarab’s sculpted wings were all part of the development work with Stato.
Finding the
movement.
Early animation previews explored the ring’s growth, the placement of its gemstone, the motion of the flowers, and the final reveal. These work-in-progress studies show the movement before the finished lighting and materials.
From the study
to the screen.
The final films bring those forms and movements into fully lit worlds. Gold, gemstones, flowers, and mineral surfaces each play a part in the character of the finished pieces.
Worlds in
suspension.

Closer is
more interesting.
The camera moves between entire landscapes and tiny details. Petals, facets, and fine structures invite a closer look, creating a sense of scale around objects small enough to wear.
